DAY 1: ADDIS ABABA
Be welcomed at Addis Ababa Bole international airport and transfer to hotel. O/N ADDIS ABABA (HOTEL).
DAY 2: ADDIS ABABA – ARBA MINCH
Drive to Arbaminch, on the way visit Dorze village which are known as their tall houses made from Bamboo tree and banana leafs. O/N ARBA MINCH (LODGE).
DAY 3: ARBA MINCH
Morning visit the Nech Sar National Park to visit mammals like Swains Hartebeest (endemic), Burchil’s Zebra, Grants Gazelle and also endemic birds like the thick-billed raven, the Wattled ibis, and the mysterious Nech Sar nightjar, and in the afternoon have a remarkable boat trip on the rift valley lake of Chamo to visit the ‘crocodile market’ where you can see display of large African Crocodiles, hippopotamus, and low land water birds. O/N ARBA MINCH (LODGE).
DAY 4: ARBA MINCH – KONSO – JINKA
Drive to Jinka visiting the villages of the Konso people who are renowned for their colorful hand-woven cotton clothes and beautiful rock terraces. (If the day is Thursday, stop on your way at Key Afer to visit the most colorful multicultural market in the Lower Omo Valley, which is attended, by the tribal groups of Ari, Benna, and Tsemai.) O/N JINKA (Hotel).
DAY 5: JINKA – MURSI – JINKA
After breakfast leave Jinka and drive to Murci village to visit and appreciate the very attractive culture of Murci tribe. They are renowned for the strange custom followed by their women who, on reaching maturity, have their lower lips slit and circular clay discs inserted. Proceed to Mago National Park. After a picnic lunch in the late afternoon drive back to Jinka. O/N JINKA (LODGE OR HOTEL).
DAY 6: JINKA – TURMI
Drive to Turmi – the village of the Hamer people whose women are noted for their typical hairdressing, and leather skirts. (If today is Saturday or Tuesday, you will have a stop at the colorful weekly market of the Hamer and the Benna people at Dimeka.) O/N TURMI (LODGE).
DAY 7: TURMI – KARO – TURMI
Early morning after breakfast Head to Murulle to see the Karo tribe, famous for there body panting (they prepare the ink for the painting from locally available material like flower, soil and animal blood) we will also admire the scenery view of the Omo river from the edge of the village. In the after noon market optional if the day fall in the market day O/N TURMI (LODGE).
DAY 8: TURMI –OMORATE – TURMI
After breakfast drive to Omorate to visit the Dassench (Geleb) tribe by crossing the Omo River which finally joins Lake Turkana. After lunch break went to village to visit the hammer tribe and if you are lucky you may have a chance to see bull jumping or traditional dancing. O/N TURMI (LODGE).
DAY 9: TURMI – YABELLO
Drive to Yabello visiting the Erbore and the Tsemay people en route. After lunch stop at Konso, continue to the region of Oromo Borena and visit their village. The drive this day will let you experience the life of the Oromo Borena people who is well known in cattle rearing. You also visit the Oromo Borena villages and their 'Singing Well' from which they cater water to their thousands of cattle by singing. O/N YABELLO (MOTEL).
DAY 10: YABELLO – AWASSA
Head to the north visiting the nomadic people of Borena, and the other people of Sidama who are renowned for their cultivation of Enset or False Banana. O/N AWASSA (HOTEL).
DAY 11: AWASSA – ADDIS ABABA
Drive back to Addis Ababa through the Great Rift Valley lakes. At Awassa visit the fish Market where the local people buy fresh fish from the fisher men. En route we will stop on the viewpoints for the Rift Valley Lakes of Shala, Abijyata and Langano. O/N ADDIS ABABA (HOTEL).
DAY 12: ADDIS ABABA – BAHIR DAR
Early morning drive to Bahir Dar via Debre Markos. On the way visit the Debre Libanos Monastery and the Portuguese Bridge, which was the first bridge in Ethiopia. After lunch in Debre Markos, you will pass through the spectacular Blue Nile Gorge. O/N BAHIR DAR (HOTEL).
DAY 13: BAHIR DAR
In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries, such as Kibran Gabriel (which does not allow entry for women.) In the afternoon, drive to the Blue Nile Falls.In the early evening, drive to Bahir Dar. O/N BAHIR DAR (HOTEL).
DAY 14: BAHIR DAR - GONDAR
After breakfast, drive to Gondar.In Gondar, visit the Castles of King Fasilides and the Debre Birhan Silassie church, with the most famous ceiling in Ethiopia. O/N GONDAR (HOTEL).
DAY 15: GONDAR - AXUM
In the morning, drive to Axum, enjoying spectacular views of the Simien Mountains. After stopping for lunch in Adarky, proceed driving through the Tekeze Valley to Axum, home of the ancient Axumite Empire, the Queen of Sheba, and the Ark of the Covenant. O/N AXUM (HOTEL).
DAY 16: AXUM
Full day visiting the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was just erected after being returned from Italy), the Queen of Sheba’s Bath, King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. O/N AXUM (HOTEL).
DAY 17: AXUM - MEKELE
After breakfast, drive to Mekelle en route visit the ruins of Yeha, dating from the 8th to 5th centuries BC, and thought to be the capital of Ethiopian civilization before Axum. Afterwards, visit the Debre Damo monastery, where the men must climb up a 15-m rope to enter. O/N MEKELLE (HOTEL).
DAY 18: MEKELE - LALIBELA
After breakfast drive to Lalibela. O/N LALIBELA (HOTEL).
DAY 19: LALIBELA
Full day visit the 11 rock-hewn churches of the remarkable King Lalibela. O/N LALIBELA (HOTEL).
DAY 20: LALIBELA
An excursion to visit some of the churches out side Lalibela town.
DAY 21: LALIBELA - KOMBOLICHA
In the morning drive to Kombolicha en route visit Lake Hayik and the monastery dotted there.O/N KOMBOLICHA (HOTEL).
DAY 22: KOMBOLICHA – ADDIS ABABA
In the morning drive to Addis via Tarmaber túnel,Gemesa Bedel view point where you can see low land and high land parts, Great Rift Valley, then proceed to south of Addis and in the evening before departure, have a fare well dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants where you will see the folkloric dances of the people of Ethiopia, and taste the variety of Ethiopian meals.
End of tour; then Departure
