DAY 1: ADDIS ABABA

Be welcomed at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, and transfer to your hotel. If we have time city tour in Addis.O/N ADDIS ABABA (HOTEL).

DAY 2: ADDIS ABABA – BAHIR DAR

Early in the morning fly to Bahir Dar and then after check in to the hotel visit the Blue Nile Falls, and after lunch have a boat trip on Lake Tana (3,600 Km Sq) to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret and Azwa Mariam . O/N BAHIR DAR (HOTEL).

DAY 3: BAHIR DAR - GONDAR

After breakfast drive from to Gondar - the 17th century capital of Ethiopia. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Castle Compound of Gondar, the ‘Bath of Emperor Fasiladas’, the church of Quskuam Mariam , the residence of Empress Mintwab, and the church of Debre Birhan Sillassie which is famous for its wall and ceiling paintings. O/N GONDAR (HOTEL).

DAY 4: GONDAR – SIMIEN MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast driveto Debark (the headquarter of the Simien Mountain National Park), and after check-in to hotel at Debark drive 36 km farther to the Simien Mountains (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to visit the endemic mammal of Ethiopia - the Gelada Baboon, and the breathtaking scenery of the Simien Mountains. O/N Simien MNP (LODGE).

DAY 5: SIMIEN MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – AXUM

After breakfast drive to Axum - the earliest Capital of Ethiopia, crossing the Tekezze Gorge. O/N AXUM (HOTEL).

DAY 6: AXUM

Full day visiting the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was just erected after being returned from Italy), the Queen of Sheba’s Bath, King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. O/N AXUM (HOTEL).

 DAY 7: AXUM - LALIBELA

In the morning, fly to Lalibela home of the 12th century AD rock hewn churches of King Lalibela. And in the afternoon, visit the first and the second group of churches of King Lalibela. O/N LALIBELA (HOTEL).

DAY 8: LALIBELA

And after breakfast visit the third group of rock hewn churches and O/N LALIBELA (HOTEL).

DAY 9: LALIBELA – ADDIS ABABA

After breakfast fly back to Addis Ababa and a half-day city tour of Addis that includes visiting the National Museum, Merkato the largest open-air market in Africa, and driving to Mt. Entoto (3,200 meters) to have a panoramic view of the capital. In the evening, you will be invited a fare well dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants of Addis to see the folkloric dances of the Ethiopian people and to taste the variety of meals of the Ethiopian people.
