DAY 1: ADDIS ABABA – BAHIR DAR

Drive to Bahir Dar via Debre Libanos. On the way, visit the Debre Libanos Monastery and the Portuguese Bridge, which was the first bridge in Ethiopia. After lunch, you will pass through the spectacular Blue Nile Gorge. O/N Bahir dar.

DAY 2: BAHIR DAR

In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the island monasteries, such as Kibran Gabriel (which does not allow entry for women.) In the afternoon, drive to the Blue Nile Falls for an easy hike around the area. In the early evening, drive to Bahir Dar. O/N in Bahir Dar (hotel).

DAY 3: BAHIR DAR – GONDAR

After breakfast, drive to Gondar. On the way, you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Amhara tribes. After arriving at your hotel in Gondar, visit the castles of Fasilides and the Debre Birhan Silassie church, which is one of the most famous churches in Ethiopia. O/N in Gondar.

DAY 4: GONDAR – DEBARK

Early in the morning, drive to the Simien Mountains.Afternoon you will explore the Semien National Park. O/N in the Simien Lodge.

DAY 5: DEBARK – AXUM

After breakfast, drive to Axum, enjoying the spectacular views of the Simien Mountains and after lunch proceed driving through the Tekeze Valley to Axum the oldest capital of Ethiopia. O/N in Axum.

DAY 6: AXUM

Full day visiting the sites of Axum, including the famous obelisks (one that was just erected after being returned from Italy), the Queen of Sheba’s Bath, King Bazen’s tomb, and the Queen of Sheba’s Palace. You can also visit the St. Mary of Zion church, where the Ark of the Covenant is kept. Men only are allowed to enter the old church. O/N in Axum (hotel).

DAY 7: AXUM – MEKELLE

After breakfast, drive to visit the ruins of Yeha, dating from the 8th to 5th centuries BC, and thought to be the capital of Ethiopian civilization before Axum. Afterwards, visit the Debre Damo monastery, where the men must climb up a 15-m rope to enter. O/N in Mekele (hotel).

DAY 8: MEKELLE – LALIBELA

After breakfast drive to Lalibela. O/N in Lalibela (hotel).

DAY 9: LALIBELA

Full day visiting the 11 rock-hewn churches of the remarkable king Lalibela. In the morning, visit the North-Western Cluster of churches.After lunch, continue our visiting the rest of churches. O/N in Lalibela.

DAY 10: LALIBELA – KOMBOLICHA

In the morning drive to Kombolcha via Woldia, stopping for a visit in the town of Hayk, to visit the lake and the local monastery. O/N Kombolicha.

DAY 11: KOMBOLICHA - AWASH

In the morning, drive to Awash,on the way you will pass through the Yangudi-Rassa National Park. O/N in Awash National Park.

DAY 12: AWASH NATIONAL PARK

Full daya game drive in Awash National Park to visit the wonderful birdlife and wildlife, such as oryx, baboons, greater and lesser kudu, warthogs, gazelles, colubus monkeys. Additionally, you’d be very lucky to see leopards, lions, and other.O/N Awash National Park.

DAY 13: AWASH – HARAR

After breakfast drive to Harar and then visit the walled city of Harar, with its colorful markets, countless mosques and shrines, and unique Harari people and houses. At night you can visit the Hyena Men who feed the hyenas every night just outside the walls of the city.O/N Harar.

DAY 14: HARAR – SODERE

In the morning,visit the city of Harar. In the afternoon we proceed driving to Sodere, you can swim here in the pool, or take a shower in the hot spring waters. O/N Sodere.

DAY 15: SODERE – ADDIS ABABA

Back to Addis Ababa,have a free afternoon in Addis, in the evening before departure, have a fare well dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants where you will see the folkloric dances of the people of Ethiopia, and taste the variety of Ethiopian meals.

End of tour; then Departure.
